Ybry of Paris France, also had an office in New York City. Ybry perfumes were advertised as being "the most expensive in the world". Ybry was a luxury perfume house founded in 1925 by a man named Simon Jaroslawski and went into liquidation in 1932. His other two perfumery companies are Fioret and Mÿon. Ybry, was a luxury house founded in 1925 and had its former domicile at 6 rue Ybry, Neuilly, Seine. In 2005 the brand was revitalized and the trademark and original bottle designs were filed for international protection. The company has as spokesmodel, Amanda Witteman.

Jaroslawski collaborated with Baccarat for perfume bottles but also had commissioned Lalique to create some luxurious glass medallions for the perfume bottles for Ybry and Fioret .. alternative name of Les Parfums des Jardins de Fioret. Lalique also produced bottles for the Fioret line.

Simon Jaroslawski, a respected 'nose' in the perfume industry, was a pioneering figure designing his bottles in a modern abstract geometric style. He held very strong artistic views. He created perfumes for the emancipated young women of the era. A distinguishing and characterizing feature of Ybry are the modern geometrical bottles. During the Great Depression the unemployment and panic in the United States was to have a chilling effect on the fortunes of the French luxury trades. The production costs of the prestigious and luxurious Ybry creations weakened the financial position of the company and Simon Jaroslawski went into personal bankruptcy in 1932. The Ybry brand name however continued to exist in the USA until the 1940's.

Baccarat produced the classic Ybry perfume bottle, a flattened square in colored crystal. These beautiful bottles were made by overlaying colored crystal on white crystal to create an opaque and unique luminescent quality, this same glass was also used for the shortlived Myon perfume line.

Each different color, was related to a particular perfume, and to a different gem. The colors range from a red to a pink, slag green to a darker green, jet black, orange to butterscotch, deep purple to lavender. Most of the time, the bottles had matching enameled and gilded metal covers. These covers were placed over the inner stoppers at an angle on one corner of the bottle.

The atomizers came equipped with either chrome or gilt brass hardware. The colored bottles had round gold foil embossed labels, the black bottles had square, silver foil embossed labels. This bottle recieved a patent granted on 1925. Ybry stayed in business up until the 1960s. The last advertisement for their perfume that I could find was in 1962.

"The blending of these simple ingredients, present in so many perfumes of the 1920s, is masterly. No one note stands out. All blend seamlessly into a beautiful whole. It does strike me as being somewhat similar to Chanel No. 5, but there seem to be no animalics in the base, which sets it apart from the Chanel. Without these elements, Desir becomes primarily a floral mélange, lighter than the Chanel, but just as beautiful. My partner describes it as a warm, slightly spicy floral, based in his nose on a jasmine/rose/ orris accord, rounded and pushed forward by the subtle citruses, grounded by the patchouli, which gives it a sensual and mysterious undercurrent. Desir du Coeur’s subtlety is one of its most charming qualities. Understated, elegant and sophisticated, it is thankfully still available from private sellers on the Internet. Launched in 1925, Desire du Coeur is a feminine aldehydic perfume along the lines of Chanel No. 5. Bright and sparkling, essentially feminine, and very Parisienne!! As there are no notes on the Internet of in my books, my best guess will be like this ..

Top Notes are Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, Neroli, Lemon, Rose, and aldehydes
Heart Notes are Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Iris, and May Rose
Base Notes are Sandalwood, Vanilla, Amber, Patchouli, and Vetiver
