Niki de Saint Phalle, born as Catherine-Marie-Agnès-Brandon Fal de Saint Phalle lived from 1930 until 2002, and was a French artist, sculptor, painter and movie maker. She developed her style through various artistic mediums.

During her youth, she was a fashion model and she appeared on the covers of prestigious magazines like Life Magazine in September 1949 and French Vogue in November 1952. She began to paint at that time, experimenting with different styles. Through her life, she lived in France, United States, Spain and Paris and was influenced by all the different types of art she came across, especially fascinated by the work of Antonio Gaudí in Barcelona and his "Park Güell", which persuaded her to create her own garden artwork later on .. “Giardino dei Tarocchi”.

Her first art exhibition was held in 1956 in Switzerland, where she showed her naïve style paintings. Her “Shooting paintings” brought her world-wide fame in 1961, as she invented a completely new painting style using a .22 caliber rifle. After that, came the “Nanas” period, where she explored various roles of women in society through the art of sculpture.

At the beginning of the 80s she decided to experiment with yet another artistic media .. the art of perfumery, as she accepted a challenge to bring her artistic sensibilities and unique style into a fragrance. Her eponymous fragrance was dedicated to sophisticated and bold women, like Niki herself. She considered it a statement of pure eroticism and a sensual weapon of empowering women.

Niki de Saint Phalle by Niki de Saint Phalle is a chypre floral fragrance for women, and it was launched in 1982. Befitting a perfume that shows two entangled snakes on its cap, Niki de Saint Phalle is a heady green floral chypre that practically hisses and rattles its tail.

Sour, green, fruity and intense, the perfume smells like the collision between a lime, a peach, and rattlesnake venom. It bursts onto the scene like an olfactory grenade, and as it dries down the florals snake their way past the hissing top notes, and the mossy, musky, woody base provides some respite to the bracing beginning.

Top notes are Green notes, Tagetes, Artemisia, Peach, Bergamot, and Spearmint
Heart notes are Jasmine, Rose, Carnation, Orris, Ylang Ylang, Cedar, and Patchouli
Base notes are Oak Moss, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Olibanum, Leather, and Amber
