De Trévise, also known as Detrévise, has become an obscure parfumerie now, but was once well known in Paris at the beginning of the last century. Also known as the Parfumerie Royal, because the company purveyed their products to the royal courts, the de Trévise Parfumerie was established at 9th Arrondissement on the 13 Rue de Trévise.

De Trévise Chypre was launched in 1920, and is presented in a classic crystal flacon. Chypre perfumes originated in the island of Cyprus, and were based on labdanum as the most significant and characteristic ingredient. The island is where the remnants of the most ancient perfume factory was found, where local plants such as labdanum, bay laurel, anise, coriander, sage, pine, parsley, almond, bergamot and others were infused into olive oil and distilled to produce perfumes that were supplied to the royalty, nobles and the wealthy in the ancient world.

This beautiful Chypre parfum extrait, launched in 1920, is warm and dry and built around a woody, mossy accord of bergamot, oakmoss, patchouli and labdanum or cistus. There are some elements of flowers, fruits and woodiness, but with a more masculine accord than many of the feminine chypre fragrances.

Top notes are Bergamot, Neroli, Mandarin, and Orange Blossom
Heart notes are Jasmine, Honeysuckle, and Orris
Base notes are Vanillin, Coumarin, Oak Moss, Patchouli, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Labdanum, and Styrax
