Cacharel as a company was created in 1962 by Jean Bousquet, in Nîmes. Cacharel is named after the local name of the garganey .. Anas querquedula .. a small duck, in the Camargue.
Jean Bousquet was the son of a sewing machine salesman; he was immersed in the world of making cloths since childhood. He trained to be a tailor at a technical college and worked for two years as a designer before returning to Paris to found his own fashion house in Le Marais. The success of his first collection inspired him to create Cacharel.
Cacharel designs are characteristic for their youthful style, femininity, lightness, refinement and use of bright colours. The presentation of the first blouse collection in Paris brought attention for its cheerfulness and the modern vision of women that it represented. The introduction of the seersucker blouse and a front cover in ELLE magazine in 1963 launched Cacharel onto the international stage.
In 1975 Bousquet commissioned L'Oréal to create a perfume for his brand; the successful Anaïs Anaïs was launched in 1978. It was followed by Cacharel pour l'Homme, Loulou, Eden, Loulou Blue, and many more.
Anaïs Anaïs was the first perfume of Cacharel, which was created in 1978. It is an ultra-feminine fresh, rich and romantic bouquet of flowers. Transparent orange blossom with heady hyacinth open the composition. The intensive floral heart blends sweet rose, delicate white lily and magical jasmine. The base is composed of comforting amber, warm sandalwood with a tender touch of misterious incense. The perfume was created by a team of parfumeurs .. Roger Pellegrino, Robert Gonnon, Paul Leger and Raymond Chaillan.
Top notes are Bergamot, Neroli, Orange Blossom, and Hyacinth
Heart notes are Rose, Jasmine, and White Lily
Base notes are Amber, Sandalwood, and Incense
Offered here is an increasingly rare ounce of the Parfum de Toilette that was issued as a special edition. It has a delightful rose quartz cabachon bouchon, topping the lovely moulded opaline glass. Never opened and in its original box. Becoming more rare and collectible with time. This is a beautiful perfume for a young woman .. but magic on any woman!
