Mury of Paris France. Established at 17 rue du Rocher, Paris in 1917, Mury produced perfumes, cosmetics and toiletries. The company was affiliated with Henri Muraour, an important essential oils company founded in North Africa in 1789. They had branches in Algiers, Grasse & Paris. They became a major company in the 1920's with the success of the perfume Narcisse Bleu. Mury was known for their elegant presentations and their iconic hexagonal bottle that was later copied by other perfumers.
Launched in 1920, Le Narcisse Bleu is a feisty oriental chypre. It was enormously popular in the 1920’s and considered the masterpiece of all Mury perfumes. It is deep, sensual and seductive with tart smoky notes overlaid with spices. This is a beautiful scent where warmth meets sensuality .. musk, vanilla and precious woods mingle with a touch of tropical flowers and spice.
Top notes are spices of Rose, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, and Tuberose
Middle notes are Oak Moss, Balsams, Resins, Leather, and Vanilla
Base notes are Frankincense, Myrrh, Patchouli, and Sandalwood
