Established by Ernest Daltroff in 1904, Parfums Caron was originally located on Rue de la Paix in Paris. Daltroff purchased the perfumery from Anne-Marie Caron and kept the original name. At the same time, he met Félicie Wanpouille, who became his partner and an important contributor to the rise of the house. While Daltroff created fragrances, Wanpouille designed bottles and served as an artistic director.

From the beginning, Parfums Caron was the house dedicated solely to fragrance, unlike houses like Chanel or Christian Dior that were first and foremost fashion houses. While the perfume houses produced more fragrances than fashion houses, by the 1920s women started to look at perfume the same way they regarded new fashion styles. However, as the couture fragrances became more and more popular, they provided a stable point in the ever changing world fashion, therefore the pace of perfume production began to decline. Subsequently, however, Caron has burst back into the front runners of a very elite and niche market perfume business. Bois de Jasmin.

A beautiful rose perfume named Rose de Noël .. "Christmas Rose" .. was created in 1939 by Ernest Daltroff and was presented at the 1939 World's Fair along with two more of Caron's fragrances Alpona and Adastra. Rose de Noel was later renamed Voeu de Noël .. "Christmas Wish" .. in 1946.

The wonderful incense and dusty rose laden fragrance has been described as being a marriage of Nuit de Noël and Or et Noir, both by Caron. Additional perfume notes include violet, carnation, sweet woods, spices and Mousse de Saxe.

Top notes are Citrus notes, Ylang Ylang, Ticture of Rose, and Jasmine
Heart notes are Rose, Lilac, Carnation, and Violet
Base notes are Incense, Oak Moss, Spices, and Sweet Woods

A 1950's article from Australia's Sydney Morning Herald described Voeu de Noël as "a heady fragrance with strong overtones of carnations, involving opulence and burnished color as mental associations. Packed in opalescence glass." Cleopatra's Boudoir

The bottle was erroneously cited as being made by Lalique in several books, including previous guides on Ebay. However this special double poppy flower opalescent flacon was designed by Felicie Vanpouille (Felicie Bergaud) and manufactured by Cristallerie de Romesnil. Cleopatra's Boudoir.

Offered here is an opportunity to buy an almost full flacon of this sumptuous fragrance. It is so delicious and beautiful. One of the most gorgeous fragrances ever. So rarely found now, this is a special treat! From my own personal collection. I also sell this in decants if you want to try it out first! Priceless!!
