The story of the house of Lanvin started with the founder of the fashion house, the milliner Jeanne Lanvin, who was born on the 1st of January of 1867 in Paris, and was the eldest of 11 children born to the poor family of Bernard-Constant Lanvin and Sophie-Blanche. Luckily for them, Jeanne's grandfather, Jacques-Firmin Lanvin, was friends with Victor Hugo who helped them along every way he could.
At the age of 13, Jeanne entered the workforce as a seamstress and milliner. As the years passed, her work became greatly admired, and she earned her apprenticeship at Félix and later at Cordeau's, working in Barcelona. Upon returning to Paris, Jeanne Lanvin became mistress of her own affairs, and she founded her own millinery fashion house at rue du Marché Saint-Honoré. Her next address upon expanding her headquarters would be 16 rue Boissy d’Anglais, while the final destination for her business, still standing to this day, is at 22, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
By 1925, when My Sin was created, Zed had already produced at least fourteen fragrances for Lanvin, some of which continued to be available for a number of years .. possibly because they represented unsold inventory. But, once they were gone, they were not to reappear.
"My Sin is like nectar .. manna. What am I smelling and why is it so wonderful? Is it lilac? Neroli? Lily of the valley? Whatever the notes are, they've converged to create a sexual flower, one that is at its peak of fragrance, like a meadow in full bloom on the hottest spring day, visited by the horniest, healthiest bees. It smells indolic, lush, overripe, decadent .. fecundity in a bottle. My Sin is a floral animalic. "Carnal Flower," Frederick Malle's modern perfume, would be the perfect name for this perfume."
Just when I didn't think a perfume could be more beautiful, My Sin knocks me over with lush, velvety, langourous flowers. My Sin is like a beautiful woman who doesn't even have to try. All eyes are on her. Wicked, sweet, sensual. And again, she's not even my type." Yesterday's Perfume
This is a feminine, provocative and dangerously seductive fragrant composition .. sadly discontinued in the 1980's.
Top notes are Aldehydes, Lemon, Bergamot, and Clary Sage
Heart notes are Neroli, Jasmine, Clove, Rose, Muguet (Lily of the Valley), Jonquil, Ylang Ylang, and Lilac
Base notes are Vetiver, Vanilla, Woods, Tolu, Styrax
Offered here is a pristine bottle of the Mon Péché Eau de Lanvin, just a little more potent than the Eau de Toilette. Beautiful and unusual hexagonal bottle, absolutely pristine. A tiny lift on the corners of the gold foil label. The perfume has never been used and there is very little to no evaporation. No box ..
This is a most beloved scent .. Are you a sinner too !!
