Alexandra de Markoff is a luxury beauty and cosmetics house best known for Countess Isserlyn makeup, classic perfumes, and skincare items. Named after a noble Russian woman, the brand was founded in the 1930s to provide high-end, long-lasting products for performers and elite consumers.
Established in the 1930s by Martinho Carlos Arruda Botelho, named in honor of a Russian noblewoman born in Petrograd. She developed several signature fragrances, including classic scents like Alexandra (launched in 1979), No Regrets (launched in 1994), and Enigma.
Water Nymphs Woodland Shrine is a rare, vintage fragrance product by Alexandra de Markoff which was originally introduced around the 1940s. It was sold as a 4 oz "toilet water" splash (eau de toilette), often packaged with decorative details like a large bow.
It is now discontinued and very rare .. and it is very beautiful!! While there are no notes available on the Internet regarding the notes, I find it to be a beautiful cool narcissus perfume that is both rare and exquisite. My guess is that it is structured something like this ..
Top notes are Orange Blossom, Petitgrain, Bergamot, and Lemon
Heart notes are Narcissus, Lilac, Orris Root, Hyacinth, and Rose
Base notes are Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Violet, and Oak Moss
Offered here is a very rare and almost perfect bottle of this heavenly toilet water. It comes in its original wooden presentation box wrapped with a pale yellow ribbon. I had to remove the cellophane to take the photographs. Never opened or used. It has an interesting dispenser in the mouth of the bottle by which to apply the fragrance. Absolutely gorgeous .. light, etherial .. not of this world ..
