Borsari is a renowned Italian perfumery company with a rich history, known for its high-quality fragrances and connection to Parma, Italy. The company was founded by Ludovico Borsari around 1870, who is credited with reviving the tradition of violet perfume in Parma, inspired by the use of Parma violets by Marie Louise. Borsari 1870, a museum showcasing the company's history, further solidifies its position as an important figure in Italian perfumery.
Violetta di Parma is a legendary perfume, which was popular at the end of the 19th century. For the first time, the violet was distilled for the Duchess of Parma, the second wife of Napoleon Bonaparte, Marie Louise, by the monks at the Monastery of the Annunciata. The Duchess used this natural violet essence as her personal perfume. Ludovico Borsari obtained the formula and launched his perfume in 1870.
Violetta di Parma is a violet scent, naturally sweet and mildly powdery, beautifully simple and pure compared too modern fragrances. But this elemental modesty is certainly its great virtue for all those who appreciate natural scents and who are curious to explore the fragrances of the past centuries.
"Violetta di Parma is a simple fragrance, only lightly sweet, with green notes and a hint of earthiness. The first time I tried it, I thought it was nice, but it was only later, after trying a myriad of other violet fragrances, that I decided it was perfection, largely because of what it is not .. it is not powdery, or dark & musty, or candy-sweet." Now Smell This.
This is a violet scent with a secret recipe. The Violet notes are surrounded by Violet Leaf, Rose, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Orris, Hyacinth, Heliotrope and some Light Musk and Woody Notes, but the sweet innocent violet predominates and reminds one of the intense beauty of these precious flowers and their beautiful scent.
Offered here is a beautiful vintage 100 ml. flacon of this inimitable perfume. Almost no evaporation or use over the years. While the perfume was launched in 1870, I am going to guess that this bottle was created around 1950. Divine scent .. ! Getting harder to find these days .. Violetta lovers!! It comes in its rather tattered presentation box ..
