Lleyn Lavender typically refers to the high-quality lavender products and historic branding originating from the Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales. While many people associate lavender production with sunny climates like Provence, Wales has established a unique footprint in field-scale lavender cultivation.

Historically, authentic Welsh lavender was cultivated on hillside farms across Wales and packaged under traditional labels like "Lleyn Perfume of Wales" or "Lleyn Welsh Lavender Skin Perfume". Today, vintage bottles of this original script-typography branding are highly sought-after collector's items.

Lleyn is the spiritual successor and pioneer of modern field-scale production in the region of 'Farmer's Welsh Lavender". Founded on a wild, windswept hill farm, they became the first to successfully distill commercial-grade lavender oil at a high altitude of 1,100 feet in the Welsh countryside. Because of the rainy, unpredictable weather in Wales, lavender farming here requires careful, deliberate techniques.

The crops are heavily managed by hand with zero chemical pesticides or herbicides. The "Terroir" of Wales is somewhat similar to that of wine, and thus the rich red earth and the high altitude give Welsh lavender oil a distinct, unique fragrance profile that differs sharply from standard Mediterranean varieties.

Farms primarily grow varieties like Folgate and Grosso. Harvesting and oil distillation take place between late July and early September. Crucially, lavender cannot be cut while it is raining, meaning production requires close observation of local weather windows.

Co-Farming with Lleyn SheepOn traditional Welsh estates, lavender production runs in tandem with sheep farming .. the region is globally famous for the native, highly efficient Lleyn Sheep breed. The agricultural calendar is synchronized perfectly: the lavender blooms just as lambing season begins, and the high-summer lavender harvest and oil distillation happen alongside annual sheep shearing.

The essential oils extracted from these fields are used to create small-batch, luxury skincare and home items, including Farmers' Lavender Hand Creams, foot balms, body scrubs, and artisan candles or oil diffusers.

Offered here is a lovely bottle of this beautiful soft aromatic lavender perfume .. Very rare .. very lovely ..
