Renoir, Doña Sol, 'Lady of the Sun', 30 ml. or 1 oz. Flacon, Parfum Extrait, 1939, Paris, France ..

Parfums Renoir was established at 20 rue de la Paix, Paris in 1939. They launched their own line of fragrances but also produced perfumes for other companies such as Robert Piguet. Renoir later became Raucour in 1946. The perfumes were distributed in USA by Mauvel Ltd. of New York.

Renoir was involved with Robert Piguet for some time, and eventually Piguet produced some of the Renoir perfumes under the Piguet label. At one point the Renoir company simultaneously produced the perfumes Renoir, Raucour and Piguet while the Piguet trademarks were filled by Renoir during the war.

Raucour used the same bottles and packaging Renoir used for Messager, Cattleya or Dona Sol .. which were also sold later under the Raucour brand and credited to Piguet in several guides. It is interesting how these perfume companies morphed into new names and yet kept the successful perfumes and marketed them, sometimes simultaneously under various brand names.

While under the Raucour name, perfumes were released and later used by Piguet.

Doña Sol by Renoir is described as a slightly aldehydic perfum, and it was launched in 1939. It is a feminine floral and is absolutely lovely.

Top notes are Hesperidic, Orange Blossom, Neroli, Bergamot, and Linden
Heart notes are Jasmine, Rose, Honeysuckle, Lilac, and Lily of the Valley
Base note is Sandalwood

Offered here is a pristine bottle of Dona de Sol, or Lady of the Sun, complete in its original presentation box. The Renoir flacon shown here was used for several perfumes, and is distinguished by the fine lines in the glass that decorate the bottle. Rare, rarer, rarest .. !!
