Monsieur Griffe was a clothing designer, who worked his way up from the bottom to become very successful as a fashion designer. Jacques Griffe, born Théodore Antoine Emile Griffe, was a fashion designer of note, and a great French couturier, and he was also a costume designer for theater and cinema. He was born on 29 November 1909 In Conques sur Orbiel near Carcassonne and died on 24 June 1996 in Villesiscle.

After his debut in Toulouse with the seamstress Mirra, Jacques Griffe worked in Paris from 1935 to 1939, alongside Madeleine Vionnet, whose creations with her famous draped dresses fascinated him from his childhood.

In 1941 he opened his own salon and haute couture place at Gaillon. During the Second World War he was mobilized and taken prisoner. In 1947, he moved to the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and founded his ready-to-wear house 'Jacques Griffe Evolution'. He created several perfumes .. Doodle , Enthusiasm , Mistigri and Grilou .

In 1951, he was entrusted by the British fashion designer Edward Molyneux to the responsibility of the Molyneux couture house which was on Rue Royale in front of Maxim's. In 1973, Griffe put an end to his professional activities and retired to Villesiscle.

Enthousiasme by Jacques Griffe was launched in 1960, and is classified as a classic Chypre Floral fragrance for women.

Heart notes are Jasmine, Rose, Carnation, Narcissus, and Lily of the Valley
Base notes are Oak Moss, Amber, Vetiver, Patchouli, and Sandalwood
