The House of Worth was a French house of high fashion that specialized in haute couture. The historic house was founded in 1858 by designer Charles Frederick Worth. It continued to operate under his descendents until 1952 but finally closed in 1956.

In 1924, with the House was operated by grandson Jacques Worth, when he led the house to venture into the perfume market. The company's first fragrance, developed by perfumer Maurice Blanchet, was Dans La Nuit. Glass-maker René Lalique was commissioned to design the bottle. Les Perfumes Worth was established as a separate business and would launch over 20 fragrances between 1924 and 1947.

Launched in 1938, Imprudence is classified as a feminine floral perfume for both men and women. 'Imprudence' means 'Reckless' in French, and it informs of the slightly looser morals that began to come into play in the twenties and thirties, when women were more liberated and able to have liaisons without raising too many eyebrows! As it came towards the end of the Worth Perfumes list, just nine years before they declined in business after the war years, there is limited information about this beautiful fragrance.

Base notes are Amber, Cedar, Sandalwood, and Vanilla

Offered here is an lovely one ounce flacon made by Lalique for this extraordinary perfume. Never opened, and still with its gelatin seal over the top, it is offered in its original presentation box. Very rare, hardly ever seen these days. Highly collectible.
