Parfums Raphaël was established by Raphaël Lopez at 3 avenue George V, Paris in 1930.
The Raphaël logo was designed by Marty. The perfumes were distributed in US in 1952 by Charles J. Oppenheim Jr., chairman of Jay Thorpe Inc., who headed Parfums Marcy.
Signature fragrance Réplique was launched in 1936 in France, and in the USA in 1946. Réplique is a woody chypre fragrance created for women.
Top notes are Bergamot, Sicilian Lemon, Cardamom, Meroli, Coriander, Clary Sage, and Aldehydes
Heart notes are Ylang Ylang, Lily of the Valley, Egyptian Jasmine, Mimosa, Tuberose, Heliotrope, and Coumarin
Base notes are Oak Moss, Olibanum, Ambergris, Vetiver, and Patchouli
To me, Réplique is dark, earthy, animalic and tinged with green and leather. There's enough sweetness and even a creamy feel that softens this beautiful perfume, and in today's world a man could and would probably wear Réplique just as well.
Offered here is a precious little pine cone shaped flacon created by Lalique which is full and has never been used. It comes in its original presentation box, though the outer box has stains from another perfume. It is a classic, not to be forgotten! The name for the flacon is "Pomme de Pin", so "Pine Cone".
